James I. "Jim" Fuller, 62, went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, August 10, 2017.

Visitation will be 2:00-4:00pm, Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl, and 11:00am-1:00pm, Monday, August 14, 2017, at First Pentecostal Church in Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, in the church with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.

Jim was born September 20, 1954 in Indianola, Mississippi, a son of the late Jesse B. Fuller and Maylene Howell Fuller.

Self-employed, Jim owned and operated PureTan in Byram for 23 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and received the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon for his superior weapons skills. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

Jim was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Jackson where he served as an usher and led Bible studies. He was also very active with the Mississippi Pentecostal Men's Prison Ministry.

Jim's heart for service to others served as a compass for his life. A true man of God, he served as a great encourager and an inspiration for not only his family, but many people he encountered throughout his life. His compassion and ability to view others without judgment fueled his love for prison ministry. His love for his family was unwavering and luminous, and his quick wit and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. Jim touched so many, and we were blessed to have him in our lives.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his infant son and daughter, Donnie James Fuller and Dena Gail Fuller; sister, Sally Ruth Fuller; brother, Floyd Fuller; and brother-in-law, Wayne McLeod.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Abie Gail Fuller; son James Bradley Fuller and wife Sandlin; daughter, Tangela Sherman and husband Darren; sisters, Brenda McLeod, Bonnie Calandra and husband Ted, and Beth Wigman and husband Hans; grandchildren, Luke Grayson and Oliver James Fuller; and mother and father-in-law, Lou Nell and Howard Young.

Memorials may be made to First Pentecostal Church, 5000 I-55 South Frontage Road, Byram, MS 39272.
